Music Video
May 9, 2010I decided to critique Brittany’s group project. Overall, I felt the video was very successful. I thought the filming of the video itself looked very professional and clean cut. The fact that the film was black and white and Brittany was dressed in classy attire, made the entire video have a dated and vintage feel. I also like the simplicity of the video and how the entire take is Brittany lip singing to the music. This was extremely appealing and corresponded well with the music. The only thing I would probably change is for the animations of the flowers and ducks. I like how they interact with Brittany in a couple of the scenes but maybe if they fixed them up somewhat, it would look a little neater.

Over the summer I was thinking about maybe creating some t-shirt designs as a new hobby. I therefore have been looking at some websites lately that have some pretty clever t-shirt designs for my inspiration. My plan is to collect some good design ideas and then add in some witty/funny sayings to go with it. It would be interesting to see how many I can come up with and also pretty cool to see who would want to buy them from me. For anybody who wants to check some of these websites, I posted some below. Group Project
April 28, 2010For my blog this week my teacher wanted me to write about how annoying group projects can be, so therefore here it is. My group consists of three other people and it can very much be stressful at times to get everyone to meet altogether. It can also be difficult because sometimes people in the group all have different ideas and it can be hard combining everyone’s suggestions. Sometimes I feel everyone in the group is going in different directions and it can therefore be easier if we all did the work independently. However, working in a group can also have its benefits as well. For one, I know in my experience I got a little stressed out if I was doing the project on my computer for awhile so splitting up the work definitely helped me out a lot. It was also nice to hear other people’s ideas when I could not think of any of my own.

April 14, 2010One website I came across that involved many animations which I thought were interesting are located on Kanye West’s official website. Typically, Kanye’s site has very stimulating animations which attracts many fans. His last updated website displays a sequence of distorted human body parts which are conjoined into one. One animation shows a human body combining into two heads, which recede back and forth. Another animation features what looks like a blue print of a human head, spinning in a circle. This intriguing animation allows the viewer to see all sides of the 3-D head. This display of artwork is very different from what we normally see in the real world. However, because the animations are completed well and the artwork shows a strong sense of individuality, I think many people will be able to appreciate this art for what it is and what it can be.
